Care of Your Living Tree

Your potted tree will be delivered with a separate plastic saucer which should be placed directly under the pot. The saucer will keep water from spilling. Please protect your floor by putting additional waterproof sheeting under the saucer as an extra precaution against spillage. Do not place your tree near heaters, furnace vents or a fireplace as this will dry out and damage your tree.

1.

Place it where it receives as much direct sunlight as possible.

2.

Give your tree a quart of water as soon as it is in place, as we do not water on the day of delivery. Pour slowly around the base to allow the water to be absorbed into the soil. Your tree needs 1 to 3 cups of water every day, depending on size. Check for moisture by pressing your fingers a couple of inches into the soil; it should be moist, not soaked. There should be no water standing in the saucer.

3.

Please do not cut or trim your tree. Please do not flock and tinsel your tree as thiswill become a hazard forwildlifewhen it is returned to our nursery.

4.

Now the fun begins — decorating! We recommend you use LED lights as they are more energy efficient and do not overheat and dry out the tree. This is also an eco-friendly choice. LED lights are very durable and will last many years.

5.

On January 1st we will begin pick up. Please put your tree outside with all decorations and lights removed. If, during the holidays, you decide to buy the tree, make sure you let us know so we will not come to get it. Thank you for thinking Green and helping our environment!
